WFA's Portland Fighting Fillies - New Logo for 2013

The logo I designed for the 2012 season of the Portland Fighting Fillies (Women's Football Association) became their official logo. I gave it a facelift for 2013 with a little more substance to fit the full contact sport. I am so excited to have my design represent such a great organization!

New painting and random thought...

Apples & Pears 8 x 20 oil on board- SOLD

I probably shouldn't confess this on a public format, but I feel like I just have to say something. I was either very lazy or this was an exercise for my imagination. I didn't have a single apple or pear to look at and I didn't go to the store to get any. I painted this from my head. It was fun to force myself to think that hard about something so inconsequential as fruit, but I appreciate the value of working from the real thing. Maybe I'll redo this with edible fruit in front of me and compare the paintings. That would be an interesting exercise...

Fighting Fillies Ad in PQ Monthly

Print ad for the Portland Fighting Fillies full contact women's football team in PQ Monthly magazine. There is no powder, puff, or lingerie when these girls play... it is full contact and full on football.

Garden Tender is a company owned by a good friend of mine with a very green thumb. She also sells hanging baskets. If anyone in the area is wanting to beautify their porch or business drop me a line.

The 2012 season look for the FIGHTING FILLIES, a full contact women's football team. Design and  concept of new logo, tickets, program, posters, fliers, ads and apparel. The Fillies play in the WFA League with standard NFL rules. They mean full contact. These athletes play hard. GO PURPLE!

digital mascot sasquatch

Here's a trendy NW Sasquatch, complete with guitar and mac. Designed for Powermax, a local apple dealer. They went with another digital mascot, but it was a good project. Started as pencil sketches, then ink drawings, then scanned into illustrator for vectorization & color.

watercolor portrait study 1, 2, 3- go

Latest watercolor portrait study in 3 stages. I've been working with acrylic so much lately I missed my watercolors, so I brought them out for a visit. It was a nice visit, I always enjoy this medium.

Happy Halloween!

I love October. Thought I'd try my hand at pumpkin carving the way the Food Network superstars do it. It's harder than it looks. And takes way more patience than one jack-o-lantern should, but I thoroughly enjoyed myself.  Happy Halloween, everybody.

Hall Parade Mural

 

9' x 25'  Hall Mural for proud grandparents of 7 grand kids. Each silhouette expresses the individuality of one talented little person.  Even the 3 year old's dogged independence. 

Flower baskets & Farmers Markets

I was commissioned to do a sandwich board sign for a wonderful vendor at the St Johns Farmer's Market. She was the brightest spot in all the market with her billions of blooms. As the sign says, baskets & more, so if you are in need of a good gardener I can hook ya up.

Winter Tree

This winter tree was for a Spring Solstice festival, painted on the client's paper-bag canvas to keep it green & simple. Finished piece was 9'w x 8'h, and by the end of the festival covered in good thoughts in the form of paper petals and leaves.
